Now online...one of my most popular in-person classes:
I'm thrilled to be able to offer Bloom Bangles to ya'll! When I taught it in person, this class was always sold out, but I know that there are lots of you out there who can't travel. So, if you were on the waiting list for this one, or you just couldn't get there...now's your chance!
If you're as in love with boho style as I am, this is the perfect class for you. These bangles are elegant and feminine...a beautiful and unique arm accessory that will have you collecting tons of compliments. And you can say that YOU made them!
As with all of my workshops, I like to show you lots of versatile techniques. In the process of creating your lovely blooms, there will be plenty that you can apply to other jewelry making projects.
Some of what you'll get:
We'll be working with heavy gauge wire and I'll walk you through the process to make it easy.
- Working with heavy gauge wire
- Bangles: two styles
- Twisting, annealing, drawing a bead, texturing, shaping, sizing
- Working with two kinds of torches: map/propane and butane
The star of our show will be the lovely metal blooms, featured on each bangle. These are so much fun to make...you might become addicted. With a bit of imagination, these flowers can be used in so many ways.
- Metal preparation: cutting, shaping, filing, texturing, finishing, and more
- Fabrication: freeform blooms and notched blooms
- Layering and attaching blooms
- Metal stamping
If you've never worked with two part resin, you might be a bit intimidated, I'll show you my easy tips and tricks for perfect resin. We'll be making leaves and flowers of the most enchanting kind!
- Resin paper wire forms: flowers, leaves and headpins
- Resin: mixing, application, curing, tips and tricks
To add to our blooms, I'll show you how to make several different kinds of charms, including a delightful "fruit" charm made from beads, wire and resin.
- Creating charms, drawn bead headpins, wrapped briolettes
- Making "fruit" charms
- Attaching charms
Wrapping beads onto our bangles only adds to the boho chic-ness...and ups the wow factor. I'll show you how to do it, step-by-step.

What else you'll get when you take an online class with me:
As a pioneer in online jewelry making classes, I strive to make sure my workshops are of the highest quality. They include highly detailed jewelry making videos that you'll be able to watch as many times as you like; no driving, no airfare, no hotels and no schlepping your heavy stuff! You’ll have continual access to my classroom. Like to work in your jammies?...the videos will be at hand…a click away…any time of day or night, for you to view as many times as you want. One of the most important, and enjoyable, aspects of my online classes is the private social media site I provide. You'll have the ability to post photos of your work, chat with other students, post questions and get the answers you need. My workshops are fluid, work-at-your-own-pace classes with a friendly, classroom atmosphere.
Once you register, a complete tool list will be made available, along with a resources list and other downloadable files. The tools and supplies required for this class are pretty straightforward and you may be surprised to find that you already own some of them. I'll be available to teach, guide, critique and answer your questions for the duration of class.
I think you're going to love making these bangles as much as I do. I hope you'll join me!

The workshop will run for two full months on my private classroom site. All videos will be posted on the first day of class. Videos are not downloadable but, once the videos are posted, students will be able to view them at any time. This means you can work in your jammies at three in the morning, if you choose! I will be available the entire duration of the workshop for questions and troubleshooting. For a basic tool list, please click here. PDF's of the complete tools/supplies list will be provided after registration.
There will be a private social media group available for you to post questions, comments, photos and chat with each other, and with me.

What my students have said:
Susan: I have taken three of Deryn's on-line classes with much gratitude for her unique teaching ability unlike any other instructor. She is a true treasure ......... so generous and never holds back her knowledge. It sets her apart from others. I have been so fortunate to have found her and she has opened my eyes to a whole new world.
Heidi: This is my 3rd class with Deryn and she's the best out there. Considering the amount of info packed into these videos, this is the best bang for the buck there is. Plus, you can watch them in your jammies at 2AM, which is what I am doing. Who needs sleep when you can play with fire and pound on metal?
Lori: I just had to send you an email to let you know how much I love the class! The classes (you) have exceeded my expectations. My husband saw me watching the videos last night (the first time I really got a chance to sit down and view), and he asked me if they were better or worse than I thought they would be…I told him they were definitely better than what I had hoped for! The instruction and the content are exactly what I was looking for and lacking in my jewelry making. I’ve never had a better teacher.
Susan: THANK YOU! All I can say is that this class has been the BEST!!!!!!!! The best I've ever taken and can't wait for the next. What a bang for the buck! There is not one thing more that you could have showed or taught us on these wonderful earring lessons. What a complete job you've done to make learning easy and fun. You packed in Sooo much information and never tired in answering any of our questions. The class felt very personal and to boot you gave us examples with your website and any other opportunity you could think of. Replaying the video's made it easy to fine tune our endeavors. You went out of your way and it seems to me that it was easy for you because you are so generous with all of your knowledge. So sharing. Very rare. You left no information out. One can easily see that you love your art profession and it radiates energy from within you and gives such confidence to all of us. God bless you. You are a "gift" my friend.
