If you missed joining us at Art Retreat in the Desert, this year, you missed out on an amazing event! Barb Solem of Vivi Magoo Presents was our hostess and, wow, did she do a terrific job of organizing, shuttling, chatting and just generally making sure everyone had a wonderful time. Our venue was the beautiful Hilton hotel...just gorgeous.
I'm falling in love with Tucson. I actually finally learned the proper spelling so maybe the natives will accept me if I ever want to join their tribe.
Three of the days we were there, the temp was hovering at a lovely 80 degrees. And it was dry...dry...dry. Pure bliss for a Houston gal. There's something about it...I think I really do have a crush.
Course, it didn't hurt having the besties there with me. We made it our mission to find the best bacon in town. That's a project that will have to be continued next year!
Of course, when we weren't teaching, we hit the gem shows. These ladies, Ronnie, Diane and Riki, are the best. There aren't many who can keep up with my manic shopping habits...through thick and thin...hunger and migraines...Italian guys and druzy vendors. Love my girls!
These duzy slices are a teeny, tiny bit of what I picked up at the gem shows.
Oh, what fun!
I'm putting together my annual gem haul post so come back here, to see. I got some amazing rocks!
My classes, though. My classes were just simply amazing. The students did some really outstanding work. These rings are from my Basket Weave Bezel class. Are they not glorious?!
This pretty thing was made by my student, Vivian Driskill. I'll be teaching this class again, here in Houston, at Adorn Me. Registration for Adorn Me has already opened so, if you want to come (and you know you do!), make sure and get registered as some of the classes are filling.
These pieces are from my Needle Pods class. What a fantastic bunch of women in that class...I just loved teaching them. And, look at the results...so good!
I don't know what happened in my Nautilus Earrings class but I didn't get a single photo.
So here's a sample that I made for that class:
I'll also be teaching this at Adorn Me, it's such a fun class.
As for Tucson...Art Retreat in the Desert is one of my all time favorite events. I've already got a few brand new classes cooking for next year...and, I can't wait! Plan to come...take classes...shop...eat bacon!
Ok, my friends...come back and I'll tell you about this amazing stone and show you the rest of my haul...
