It's here!...it's here!...it's finally, finally here!
My own shipment of my new book The Jewelry Maker's Design Book: An Alchemy of Objects has arrived on my doorstep, after a very long wait. The publisher had a big, huge, major hang up with their distributor but the books have finally gone out now and, as you can see, I'm in the middle of getting them out to those of you who so graciously ordered from me. The first humongous batch is in the mail. Woot!
I must thank you all for being so patient. Believe me, it was a difficult wait for me, as well!
Some of you have a copy in your hot little hands. I can honestly say that I poured my heart and soul into it so I REALLY do hope you love it!
Did I mention to you guys that I did almost all of the photography myself? I didn't really get to pick how they were cropped or (mostly) how they were arranged but I was blessed to get to shoot most of them. I was so happy to have the opportunity because I love the look of the book.
The book is heavy on design, but also includes a ton of projects. The pieces I've included are some of my very favorite things I've worked on.
There's also lots of focus on found objects, but the design part of the book...oh! Design has been a longtime passion of mine so I'm thrilled to have been able to include it here.
I had drawn much of my inspiration for the book from my online class (now open for registration) The Alchemy of Objects. With the release of the book, I wanted to offer this class and have the book as a sort of reference/textbook for the workshop.
Having spent most of the last year...an exorbitant amount of time and energy...blood, sweat and tears...and a little part of my soul, on this book; it would please me to no end to hear what you think of it.
If you love it, would you be willing to go to Amazon and leave me a review? (If you hate it, you can skip this exercise.) I promise you, I'll be forever grateful!
