Hello again, my friends! Since I'm such a lame-o Etsy lister, I don't get terrific results with my little shop. It's my own fault, I know. Not to complain too much but I find that it's very difficult to find things, people, shops, on Etsy. Am I singing anyone else's song?
Anyway, I've finally added a few new things.
So, I thought I'd show you a little of what's been on my workbench.
These puffy little glass hearts are like wearing a bit of mercury glass love, around your neck. I know that sounds corny but, seriously, these are so easy to wear. I had them in several colors and wanted to do something sort of simple but with lots of stones and a little sparkle for good measure.
Remember these lovely hessonite garnets from the gem show, last weekend?
I was anxious to use them and they went very nicely with my little orange heart. In fact, I was searching specifically for orange gems, at the show. I've been loving orange for a while, now.
Turns out, I'm right on trend with my orange affection.
Yay for me.
Pantone's spring 2013 fashion colors include..."nectarine". Hey...that's a fancy name for "orange," right?
And look at that "dusk blue." I adore all shades of blue. So here, I've got the dusk blue as well as the "grayed jade" with even a little bit of the "monaco blue."
Yeah.
And..."poppy red."
Red = good.
Red is always good.
All of this was a happy accident as I didn't think to check the spring colors until after I'd made the pieces.
Here's where I strayed off the spring colors with this amazing silver heart. But, silver's always in style...I think.
I used one of my precious pyrite drops for the second strand of this necklace. Those pyrite drops are a little difficult to find so they're a little difficult for me to part with. But, doesn't it look terrific with the glass heart? If you don't see this one in my Etsy shop, and you're interested in it, email me. I'll be listing it soon.
So...yes...there's more. A lot more. I just can't show it all to you, yet.
In the meantime, check out Pantone's site. If you love color (don't we all?) you'll love exploring, there.
I'll leave you with their color of the year: "emerald."
Yum.
xxoo

Just gorgeous Deryn. Love how you transition from the rustic to the crystals and back again. You have such amazing talent and style.

Love the necklaces and I agree with Deb that your ideas and art are always new and so beautiful. I said on Facebook that I have three of the red hearts and that your ideas have encouraged me to do something with mine. Hope to get them made by Valentine's Day for my daughters and one for me !
I also found it interesting on the other's
take on Etsy. I wish you could encourage others to give their take on Etsy today vs a few years ago.
It has been so nice following you on your journeys teaching and seeing the wonderful pieces of art you have created. Keep up the great work !

These are exquisite, D. Love them. It never ceases to amaze me how you continue to create fresh & wonderful designs. Your head is gonna blow off with all these ideas. Kudos, sweetie.

OH- the silver one, for sure- LOVE!! The pyrite drop is to die for!!
I closed my etsy shop for the same reasons- I jsut kind of ran out of steam. The amount of garbage-from-China resellers is nothing short of astounding! I thought the stuff was to be vintage or handmade? But, if you candirect people there from your blog to buy it works!!
