Ina Garten's Shortbread Cookies
Today is the day, traditionally, that I begin my 12 Days of Christmas Ornaments posts. This year, our little swap group has experienced extraordinary health issues (not just myself but several members of the group) and so our start date has been pushed back to December 5th. Monday I'll begin posting the ornaments from this year's fabulous swap. For now, I'll leave you with a link to the 12 Days of Cookies on the Food Network site. Every year, I subscribe to the cookie notifications and every year...I don't make them. But, they sure are good to look at!
Update on my shoulder issue: I've been under forced rest (no work makes Deryn a bit of a cranky pants!) for about 4 weeks now. What was once a screaming agony in my shoulder joint has calmed down considerably and I'm actually able to move my arm...even above my head. My physical therapist has me exercising it (first time was Monday) and that was bad, at first, but now even that is ok. No more pain meds...well, hardly any...not as much ice as before...not as much rest. My parents were champions during my recovery. They came, they stayed, they worked. My mom got almost my entire kitchen out of boxes and into the cupboards (kitchen photos forthcoming!) and did every speck of laundry in the house. My dad painted one of the guest rooms, ceiling and all, did various handyman chores and drove me to my pt appointments. They were such a blessing!
Also...thank you SO much for your prayers. It's meant so very much to me to know how much you all are thinking of me and praying for me. I'm finally on the mend and grateful for it.

Glad to hear you're a tad better. Have your parents gone? How great that they were in a position to help you. See ya online tomorrow at the awesome 12 days swap. I'll be posting about it too.
Hugs.

What good news, Deryn! Those frozen shoulders certainly do take their time in healing. It sounds as though you are past the worst of it, thank God. What blessings your parents are and so dear to help you with so much. Continue to take care of yourself, my friend...you will soon be looking back at this time of your life and see the lessons learned. At the same time, you will be looking forward with much anticipation yet a new awareness of self-care.
Hugs

When you're in pain and taken away from your work, you can't think of any benefit to it. But sometimes life just puts a stop to our activity, by whatever means, and there are lessons to be learned. Allowing others to help you and knowing they are there for you, always-- what a blessed thing to discover! So glad you're on the mend!

Glad to hear you are feeling better! And glad that the 12 ornaments of Christmas will be coming, despite the health problems... I have been looking forward to them.

So glad to hear you are feeling some improvements. I had/have a frozen shoulder as well. Although yours sounds much worse.
I didn't finish my PT and still have occasional issues with it. You will be smarter.......right?!
