Ok, peeps! My last post was a blog hop giveaway teaser for Rice's fab new book, Destination Creativity. Now it's time to tell you how to win a copy for your very own self. But first.... Have you checked out the other blogs on the hop? I believe most, if not all, are offering similar opportunities to win. Plus, these folks just have downright terrific blogs to peruse...
- Monday, Oct. 3--Melanie Testa
- Tuesday, Oct. 4--Seth Apter
- Wednesday, Oct. 5--Mary Beth Shaw
- Thursday, Oct. 6--Carla Sonheim
- Friday, Oct. 7--Lisa Myers Bulmash
- Saturday, Oct. 8--Melissa Manley
- Sunday, Oct. 9--Deryn Mentock
- Monday, Oct. 10--Jen Cushman
- Tuesday, October 11th: Jill Berry
Before I get into this winning stuff...let me tell you a little bit about what's in the book. I loved reading it! If you've ever wanted to go to one of the art venues being offered around the country but weren't sure which one to try, Rice gives you a personal tour. In her charming and personable way Rice takes you, arm in arm, through the very best of them. In addition, you get a virtual retreat right in the book. Rice and Earl sat in on five workshops at various retreats and included step by step instructions in the book. My Wrapped In Silk Bangle Bracelet class in Salado, Texas was one of those...
I'm SO thrilled that Rice included my class in the book. It was wonderful having her and Earl in class.
The artist's projects are terrific but Rice has also included tons (and I mean tons!) of tips and mini interviews from lots of other artists and retreat attendees in this book. There's even a gorgeous guy in a kilt.
If any of that piques your interest, leave me a comment on this post and I'll randomly draw a winner by the end of Tuesday!
Good luck! xxoo

I would love to win such a book! Thanks for the chance!

Living in England, I'm afraid I'm not going to get to any of the Art Fests, alas. The book would be the next best thing and maybe if I win the lottery I will know which ones would suit me best.
Thanks for holding your competitions.

Confession time. I don't wear bracelets because they get in my way. And I don't wear earrings because (don't tell Rice) I don't have a single piercing in my body. But some of your necklaces look fabulous and I definitely want to try some of your tutorials. I'm having the best time with this blog hop.

Yes,YES! My interest is way piqued! I would love to have that book! I want to get away at an art retreat, even if it can only be through the pages of that book - for now.
Posted by: Stephanie Gentry | Sunday, October 09, 2011 at 12:30 PM
I am DYING to get my hands on this book. I asked my library to purchase it and for the first time ever, they said NO!! Apparently their reasoning is that it will have a limited audience. I think they are full of BS and I emailed them back to explain why that would NOT be so. (Politely, of course.)
It didn't do any good, even though I explained that they had all of Rice's other books (which I personally put the purchase requests in for!) and that I'd taught mixed media at their branch and the classes were *SO* popular they had to book 2 more just to meet the demand AND they booked a private workshop after hours for the staff! The people whom this library serves are excited by mixed media and several of my students have gone to Artfest after I told them all about it.
*sigh* I tried.
Anyway, my fingers are crossed that maybe, just maybe, I can get my hands on this fabulous book by winning it. Here's hopin'!
And congrats for being included! :)
