Believe me, I know how silly this is but my two guys grew up thinking Sponge Bob was hilarious and, much to my deep surprise, I grew to love S Bob, as well. Call me simple minded but his innocent brand of humor tickles my funny bone. But then, I've been accused of being an easy laugher. There you go.
Just what does this have to do with anything at all? Nothing. Except that S Bob's "Magic Conch" episode reminded me of this concho belt that I picked up while visiting family in Wyoming. Conch...concho...conch...concho. There's definitely a connection there.
Yes....I believe in the magic concho. Thank you my good friend, Deb, for encouraging me in this acquisition. You're a good friend and a bad influence. Oh, and thank you for this:
...gorgeous Coreen Cordova hunk of friend love. Love. Love!
But, back to the concho. Each concho and butterfly is set with an incredible Carico Lake turquoise cabachon and, seriously, the effect really is magical.
Update: At the gem and jewelry show, there is a turquoise booth that I studiously avoid. I just couldn't resist it's powers any longer and was drawn in, only to find that it's run by the owner and operator of the Carico Lake mine. What fun it was to chat with those guys!
This piece was made by Kirk Smith and is something I've always dreamed of having but never thought possible. It was a big stretch for me...not feeling at all deserving of such a thing.
I'm not sure where I'll be wearing this. If the opportunity comes for me to ride in a parade or become a rodeo princess, I think this will fit the bill. Until then, it's the perfect laundry-doing-dinner-making accessory. Magic.

Finally home & anxious to get into the Bo Ho Bliss Class I signed up for while on my trip down to Houston! I am trying to dig out of the piles of laundry & mail... That guy had some amazing pieces! Yeah & I got my fair share but, LOVE my pieces. HUGS!

What a beautiful piece... you will make it shine! Sponge Bob and Patrick bring back great memories and although daughter one is 20... SB always ends up under our Christmas Tree! I hope you are enjoying the summer and making it through the heat!
Take care,

I remember that when Spongebob was first on, I didn't like it. I didn't want the kdis to watch it. Now I love it. The humor is often subtle!
Love the jewelry and the belt. What else is new??

I agree with all here, Deryn.....you deserve beautiful gifts with no quilt attached. Life is far too short to deprive ourselves of objects of adornment and art that speak to our hearts. Enjoy it! You don't need to be in a parade to wear this beauty......every day can be a parade. So look forward to seeing you at AU.

A magic concho belt for a magic lady! What's not to love? Plus, you wear it so well & I'm sure that Wife Whisperer would agree!

Wear it! It's very beautiful! I'm a fan of this kind of work too and have been studying the workmanship of them for a while. That buckle is killer beautiful!
I'm also of the mind that getting things to enjoy while you are young and beautiful and not saving it all for a rainy day or when you are older is the way to go because what you have now is for you to use now. Just trust in yourself and you'll be all right.

Stunning...pure magic...my favorite turquoise because it's not too perfect, not too clear, not too blue. I don't do jealous but this could sure tempt me to go there.
