Number Two, that clever boy, has decided that the best way to get his Phys Ed college credit is to take a billiards class. So, the first day of school, he calls me:
Number Two: "Mom, I don't know where my billiards class is supposed to be held."
Me: "Welllll......"
NT: "What should I do?"
Me: "Ummmmm...."
Me, again: "Let me look online for you... Ok, it's off campus, at a place called....Yesterdays?"
NT: "Oh, yeah, that's a billiards parlor and pub!" (excitement growing in his voice)
Me...thinking: "My kid goes to school at a pool hall and bar!"
NT: "That's my kind of class!"
Me: "Yep."
And, so went the first day of college for Number Two. Needless to say, he's very excited about school...having an apartment with his brother...being "on his own." He's shopping for a pool cue and joining a billiards league. Is there a major in billiards?
Or, for Number One, truck maintenance?

When I was in college the most offbeat Phys Ed course was bowling.
I do want to share that the son of a person I know makes his living playing Frisbee golf. He may not be able to do it for 30 years or more, but if he is good enough he plans on spokesperson deals and merchandising as residual income.
Oh - it is a different world.

How very cool that billiards is now offered as a Phys Ed course. Good thing he has a great mom, who could find out where the class is held. I hope both boys are enjoying their new journey away at school.

Wow. That's a pretty sweet deal. I needed a "coffeehouse class" when I was in school. Why couldn't I get credit for that?

this is really funny..PE in a bar..
my friends granddaughter gets to ride her horse for her PE course.( not college level)
things have certainly changed from the dark ages when my PE class amounted to running around the track or volleyball in the scorching sun.
