The Houston Bead Society will be holding their annual bead and jewelry show and sale, November 13th through 15th and, although I haven't had the chance to attend yet, I've heard wonderful things about past shows. This year, I'm thrilled to be vending at this exciting event. It will be held at the elegant H.E.S.S. Club, near Houston's world-famous Galleria shopping area. This should be a really fun time as the Bead Society is offering classes, raffles, giveaways and a selection of art bras on display from Houston's first art bra project, associated with Baylor College of Medicine...BRA-Vissima. Here are some of the things I'm bringing with me to the show...
Smoky Quartz With Copper Milagro necklace
This piece is all done in patinated copper with faceted smoky quartz stones. The heart milagro is hand made in the old way, from Mexico.
The focal for this piece is a precious mother's pin with enameled flowers. It was a very lucky find! I paired it with a vintage glass rosary, pearls, opal and other good stuff.
I've got several new pieces done with enamel leaves (thanks Richard!) and sari silk, for fall...
I hope you can stop by and see me at the show but, if not, and you see something here you're interested in, email me; these things are available but not listed in my Etsy shop.
Wing And A Prayer necklace
This piece features a hand-cast pewter focal by Lynn Davis. I'll be posting more of my pieces, done with Lynn's beautiful focals, later.
"New Life" (sold)
In the meantime, wish me luck at the show!

Your work is absolutely beautiful, Deryn.
I really hope you will allow me to post this here - I'm part of a Houston-area bead shop that is looking for new instructors, so if anyone here would be interested we would love for you to email a copy of your resume and teaching experience to HoustonAreaBeadShop@gmail.com along with any classes you would like to teach.
Thanks for your help!

Wow, your winter silk bracelet is so beautiful. I love the color and textures here, especially with the beautiful white texture peeking around the edges. The blue beads go so perfectly. Great job.

Your use of the sari silk and Richard's leaves is so earthy and the way you used them really lets the colors sing! Those earrings with the enameled leaf and black stones are fabulous! Good luck at the show-- you'll knock 'em alive!
