Earrings are phenomenal, but I do need to correct all of you. Tim Burton has nothing to do with "Coraline." You've all been taken in by either the dark, eerie visuals that resemble his films, or by the tagline "from the director of the Nightmare Before Christmas." Burton had little to do with Nightmare; he merely wrote a poem when he was a young animator and drew some concept art for major characters. Henry Selick, the director of Coraline, did all the rest on Nightmare, and still Burton's name was added to its tagline. I know this is preachy, but just like you, Deryn, Selick is an artist trying to find his way in the world, and he deserves all the notice and recognition he can get.

I've so enjoyed browsing through your August/September posts. The vintage button earrings are fantastic!

Karla

I did see the movie...in 3D! And it was awesome!

Cool earrings! I haven't seen the movie yet!!! Have to go this weekend!

Maria

Very nice earrings! I'd like to try the ICE resin some time. Where do you get it? Thanks.

What a cool idea! I just never thought of using resin to enhance something like a button! Hmmmm-- wonder what it would do over polymer clay? I told you I had some wasp's hive I wanted to cover. Got to try this!

Marie-Aimée

beautiful creation !!!

Lola M.

Oh yeah, Tim Burton is brilliant. These earrings are great, I cannot believe how great that resin looks with so many different applications. You've inspired me, it is so on my to-do list to get some and start my own experimenting.

lee w.

does the ice resin come with directions? I'd really lke to try it, but I don't know all fo what is needed. Those bezels are great- it would be fun ot make a bunch of things like this for Christmas gifts.

Stephanie Rubiano

Ooooh, I couldn't bring myself to watch "Coraline"...the button eye thing just FREAKED me out, lol! I am looking forward to "Alice in Wonderland", though. Those costumes are jaw-dropping! Oh, and your earrings are lovely...

Erin Prais-Hintz

Awesome inspiration! That movie is so wild and queer and altogether cool. Love what you did. Love how that ICE Resin magnifies everything. And after trying another type of resin that was quicker and easier, I find that ICE Resin is still the best! I have to get back in the studio and start a resin crusade! Thanks for the creepy kooky inspiration today! Enjoy the day! Erin

Michelle

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie just wasn't sure the kids would roll with it - and I'm having enough trouble getting the little monsters out of my bed at night! lol Love the earrings!

veronique

Nice idea to use those buttons into ice resin, the result is uncommon.

Mmmm, i believe you'are prettiest with you own eyes, Deryn...

annie

Tim Burton is a fav with me. I think I've seen just about everything he's done except his most recent, Coraline. Love the earrings. Now I need to see that movie.

Renate

These are definitely very sweet!! Movie hasn't reached us here yet - will have to be on the lookout for it, I have been a Neil Gaiman fan for years.
Have a wonderful day!

Susan

I just recently saw it and loved it. I, too, am a huge Tim Burton fan and love anything he does; such a creative soul.

Love the earrings and how you "Coralined" your photo!
