Class begins this Friday! And, to sweeten the deal, I've added bonus material. Just look at these beauties:
"Sun and Moon"
Loadstar Lantern Hoops
...handmade with Oregon sunstone and peach moonstone.
I've been furiously working on this bonus lesson for my BoHo Bliss online workshop. A lodestar is defined as something that serves as a guide...upon which the attention is fixed. Appropriate for these hoops, don't you think? The curvy shape reminds me of a Turkish lantern...mysterious, warm, light giving. I think you're gonna love making these and am so happy to include them in the workshop! Included, as well:
Ellipse ear wires
As well as incredible hoops, we'll be learning how to make perfect ear wires. My Ellipse wires, included as a bonus lesson, are oh-so-versatile and beautiful!
Hello, my friends! I'm giving away TWO spots in my new BoHo Bliss online class. For all the info on the giveaway, please click over to my Something Sublime blog...HERE.

We're covering a lot of technique in this workshop, stuff that can be used for a myriad of other jewelry making projects. Click here for all the details and for more photos of class samples.
We'll be creating hoops with dangles and classic hoops without, as well as covering the basics of perfect ear wires...
...an absolute must for earring makers. We'll also be creating these beauties...
...gorgeous, no? You're going to love wearing these Abacus Hoops, and they're fun to make. I would love for you to join me in class...really! Pop over here for the rest of the 411 (that's the cool way my guys taught me to say "info")
We're closing in on the last day of registration for Of Towers and Turrets...this Sunday, May 1st. If you haven't joined the class yet and are wondering if you'll have time to watch the videos and work on the projects, the answer is...yes! The class runs to June 1st and the videos are up 24/7, which means you can watch and work in your jammies, if you so desire. This is the second go-round for this popular class which means I'm really not sure when we'll run it again...it may not be until next year. So, that's the latest and greatest. Thanks so much for checking in!
Hello creative ones! What's happening at Jewelry Works right now? As you can see, incredible work by the students has been, and still is, happening. My Build Zone class is just coming to an end. Thank you all for an incredible class...no lack of talent and creativity in that workshop! Many of you have asked about when I'll be offering it again. It will be toward the end of the year and I'll post the info here and on my Something Sublime blog.
from the Of Towers and Turrets and Build Zone classes
Sharon and I are currently teaching our fabulous Of Towers and Turrets class. Have I mentioned to you how much I adore this class? It's just so danged much fun! For one thing, it was terrific fun being able to collaborate with another artist on such a project (and what an uber talented artist Sharon is!) For another thing...the students. You, my students, are sublime in every way! I love getting to know you and the work that has come from this class is divine. Registration is ending soon...May 1st. I'm not positive about this but I don't believe we'll be offering this class again this year sooooo...if you'd like to take it, this is your last chance for awhile. I hope you'll pop over to the classroom (click here and scroll down) and take a quick look around. The Towers class runs until June 1st...lots of time to work.
I'm also working on a couple of really exciting online workshops to offer in the future as well as class proposals for in-person teaching events. Busy, busy! I'll have all of that info posted as soon as it's ready so please, check back.
Take a peek into our jewelry making world! Come with me and Sharon and learn how to create beautiful collage paintings (you'll learn how to paint your own beautiful faces!)...then use them in a piece of jewelry you've made yourself, from the ground up. We'll cover cutting, shaping, filing, soldering, bezel making, working with resin and more. Doesn't that sound like fun?
Of Towers and Turrets
an exquisite fusion of mixed media and mixed metals
We rocked day one of class and can't wait to see what our wonderful students will make (we love you, students!) Here's what they're saying:
Lis: My first online workshop, and it's been so incredibly amazing. Of Towers and Turrets, please do check it out.....lots of wonderful ladies from all over the world, sharing the most incredible work as they/we learn from these fabulous instructors!!! I am hooked, Sharon and Deryn are an amazingly complimentary and effective team and I highly recommend this workshop. A series of very professionally executed and just plain fun videos guide you through everything from tools and sources, detailed instruction and review....forums filled with lovely, encouraging and highly inspired people bouncing information and encouragement all over, a veritable treasure trove, all of it. Our instructors seem to never be further than a whisper away when you have a question. I love how relaxing yet inspiring it all is. For a workshop that will potentially alter your perspective, teach and refine your skills, and add layers of soul to what you create, just do it. You won't regret a minute of it.
Judy: It is an online class, and the perfect solution for the girl who lives in the middle of a corn field and doesn't have the time nor money to travel to attend some of these wonderful art classes. I can work in my jammies. The class that got me hooked on the on-line classes is "Of Towers & Turrets - An Exquisite Fusion of Mixed Media and Mixed Metals found at All norah'S Art . This is a class presented by two very talented artists, Sharon Tomlinson and Deryn Mentock. I have been dreaming of taking a class from Deryn for some time now. So when I saw the opportunity to take an online class by her, I didn't even stop to read on my way to the paypal button. I found the button and bought the class and then went back and read about it! WOW, a great impulse buy on my part! Two of my biggest art passions in one class. Collage and metals. Wonderful!
There's a frenzy of construction happening in my Build Zone online class! Registration is ending in just a few days so, if you want in on the fun, click here for the info. My students have been busy at work with some amazing results; let me show you:
And this, by my teaching partner for our Of Towers and Turrets e-class, Sharon Tomlinson. Sharon is a wonderful teacher, experienced with online classes. She's a super talented painter and sewer (she has a brand new class up at her site, Tree Castle Apron)...she'd never done jewelry. Can you believe it?
She started a jewelry journal...which looks way better inside than my own jewelry journal! Sharon can actually draw whereas I just scribble. (Btw...this journal is a hint of things to come from me...watch for it!)
Sharon's completed piece is meticulous and gorgeous...just like her journal drawings! See what I mean? It's hard to believe this is her first rodeo.
If you're loving that focal...image and all...you can do it too! You'll learn how in our Towers class. We just opened registration for that one; click here. Honestly? It's one of the best classes I've ever taught...packed with info and so much fun stuff. I'm excited to meet a whole new crop of students there!
I'm so pleased to announce the return of an online workshop by myself and my friend and teaching partner, the fabulous Sharon Tomlinson...presenting: "Of Towers and Turrets." This was a hugely popular class the first time around and we're pleased to be offering it again. There's so much in it...mixed media techniques, collage, painting....and tons of jewelry making techniques. We had just as much fun as the students and they made some gorgeous things. Take a look:

My first "grab a button" ever! I'm still working hard on my new Build Zone workshop...getting everything just so, as is my way. I labor over every aspect, whether it needs it or not! But, I think it shows in the end result. I'm really excited to offer you a pretty blog button. I feel like maybe no one will grab it so, if you do...I'd love to see where you put it. Take a look in my sidebar over there. Just grab the code and paste it into your own blog or site. Thank you!!
Registration continues for this class. How I love this workshop! There are just tons of tips and technique packed into it. I hope you'll take a look at the fun things we're going to do, and for registration info...click here.
