Good technique comes first. Remember your third grade teacher who always said "practice makes perfect?" Annoyinng, yes, but it turns out she was right.

Solid technique is the number one thing to perfect...then comes the fun part; developing your personal style. Those two things, technique and design, are my favorite things to impart to my students.
