The Next New Thing

Another terrific session of The Build Zone has wrapped and I'm furiously working on my next new online workshop. Lots of you have asked for the return of my Towers and Turrets class. While I won't be offering that particular class, again, I am offering this new one, in it's place. It's all jewelry making; resin and bezels. It's all of the things you loved about the T&T class + more. I'm deep in the throes of editing video but I have a terrific classroom, all ready for ya'll. Let me tell you...you're going to love this new class!

The Build Zone-Back By Popular Demand

It's baaaaaack.....! I know many of you have been waiting very patiently and I'm excited to be offering, after a long wait...The Build Zone.

If you guys are interested in honing your skills, learning about design and finishing well, this is the online class for you.

You'll get a look inside how I design and make my pieces, as well as tons of tricks and tips. This class has been extremely popular, with good reason; it's good! Classes Update

Embossed Hoops from Hoop-La class

Hello to you all and I hope you had a very happy holiday season! To update you on my plans for this upcoming year, I'm working on a very exciting project that I can't reveal, just yet. You'll be the first to know, when I can say!

I have plans for some online classes, this year, although I'm not completely firm on what I'll offer. My tentative schedule is to offer online classes for the spring, summer and fall semesters. At least one of these will be a brand new class, if things go as planned.

Asymmetrical balance is a design element that many jewelry makers struggle with. It's one of my favorite ways to design a necklace so we're having fun with it, in class.

We're also working with fabric focals. Dorylyn stitched this beauty up, herself. Creating hand stitched focals isn't part of the class but kudos to Dorylyn for taking things a step further...with spectacular results!

Introducing, The Alchemy of Objects

I've got a brand new online workshop for you and I think you're going to love it as much as I do...The Alchemy of Objects. If you've ever struggled with design, this is the class for you! Design and found objects are two of my very favorite aspects of jewelry making and in this workshop we get to play with both.

I'll give you an in-depth look into my personal creative process. You'll learn about the importance of design elements and principles and see how to apply them to your pieces. Each week I'll be posting a "Design Challenge" video that will walk you through the steps to design and create a beautiful piece of jewelry. You will be challenged to put the principles from the video into action and create your own challenge piece. I can't wait to see what the results! 

In addition, I'll take you through lots of techniques with "Technique Essentials" and "Focus on Focal" videos. In these lessons, you'll learn specific techniques as well as how to work with found objects.

This workshop contains over 30 videos, so I'll be running the class for two full weeks longer than I usually would to give you maximum viewing time. I can't even tell you how much great stuff is crammed into this workshop! 

This is an online class unlike any I've ever taught and I'm so excited to offer it to you! I hope you'll join me and discover The Alchemy of Objects.

Cost:

I accept Paypal payments only.  

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that your Paypal email address is the one you would like the classroom password sent to.  Also, make sure your full name is included in your paypal payment information.

Dates:

Start: Sept. 15, 2012

End: Nov. 30, 2012

The workshop will run for 11 weeks on my private classroom site.  Videos will be posted over the first six weeks of class to facilitate weekly design challenges. 

Once the videos are posted, students will be able to view them at any time.  This means you can work in your jammies at three in the morning, if you like! I will be available the entire duration of the workshop for questions and troubleshooting.  PDF's of the tools/supplies list will be provided after registration.

Registration:

Registration will remain open until Oct. 15^th.  After registration, I'll email you a username and password for the classroom.  You should recieve it within three days of registration. Once you're logged into the classroom, you will be able to access the tools and supplies list and watch a few intro videos.  I will also email you an invitation to our Yahoo group and our Flickr group.

There will be a Yahoo group site for you to post questions, comments and chat with each other and with me. There will be a flickr group for you to post photos of your lovely work, if you so desire.

A great feature of this class is that it's really a two-for-the-price-of-one deal. Our students have been hard at work on their mixed media pieces...and they're wonderful! Once they've finished with that, they move on to create their own lovely "towers" bezels.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Sharon and I have had to change our deadline for registration for our Of Towers and Turrets online workshop to Jan. 9th.

The best laid plans often go awry. I'd been working on some brand new (exciting!) online class material that I had intended to offer for the new year but my recent health problems (darned shoulders!) have derailed my plan. Instead, I'm happy to announce open registration for my super popular online workshop, Of Towers and Turrets.
