Waiting for my next online workshop offering? Looking for a jewelry journal, art journal, sketch book, diary or artist's book? This is it!
If you've taken a class from me, in person, you've probably seen my jewelry journal. It's my indispensable right hand and I carry it with me whenever I travel to teach. Inside are my design sketches, color palettes, ideas and inspirations.
I'm so happy to finally take this chance to show you all how to make one of your own.
I'll show you how to construct the journal but I'll also teach my method of altering cabinet cards. We'll then embellish them with resin paper wire forms and wire wrapping...and we'll decorate the spine, as well.
For the pages we'll be doing paper transfers, fabric transfers, collage, quickie coloring techniques, pockets, envelopes and ephemera...even some stitching...but with lots of room left for sketching and writing.
One of the things I'm most excited to share are these watercolor pages we'll make for the inside of our daybook. I'll also show you how to create a mini, "tuck-in" watercolor palette to tuck into a special pocket of your journal. For you jewelry makers, I'll discuss color schemes and show bead combinations to go with each.
This class is packed with techniques that will easily translate to many of your other projects, including jewelry.
It's a mixed media extravaganza.
Here's a little of what my students have said about my online classes:
Sonia: I want you to know that you are such a wonderful teacher and it's a blessing that you give students that can't travel the gift of your classes. I will take every single one of your online classes, it's all wonderful and a real art. Please don't ever stop giving us that gift!
Leigh: Thank you so very much, Deryn! This class was truly amazing. I always feel like my design and level of craftsmanship grow when I am pushed out of my comfort zone. You have managed to do this for me. You are a wonderful teacher!
Mary: Your class has been a super wonderful experience for me. I never imagined I could like any class this much. So Kudos to you for being such an attentive and clear teacher. I can't say enough good things about it.
Tracy: You won't be sorry you signed up. These are clear concise videos with wonderful step by step instructions simple enough for anyone to follow.
